Delegation of woman researchers from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visit NIMS

(September 15, 2011) Delegates of woman researchers, headed by Prof. Cui Ping, Director of Ningbo Institute of Material Technology and Engineering (NIMTE) visited NIMS.
Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is not only the highest research institution in China in the field of Science and Technology but also the highest advisory institution deeply involved in governmental policy. There are many affiliated research and educational institutions under the CAS all over China and the delegates, consisting of active woman researchers such as directors or deputy directors of the affiliated, visited NIMS to understand the current situation of woman researchers in Japan.
The delegates received introduction of NIMS and explanation of gender equal activities within NIMS. Afterward they discussed with President Ushioda about each country’s policy on support system for woman researchers and exchanged opinions.
After the discussion, they visited laboratories of woman researchers at Sengen and Namiki site and had a lively discussion on the latest research results.
