2013.10.29
(2013.11.22 Update)
A Signing Ceremony was held on October 29 at University of Rennes 1(UR1). This Agreement is aimed to pursue collaboration on exchanging students and researchers.
UR 1 has been in existence since 1969, but its heritage stems back to the days of the Breton university founded in 1461. A Comprehensive Collaborative Agreement (CCA: Memorandum of Understanding for a sister institute) was signed in July 2010 with UR1. NIMS and UR1 has hosted NIMS- UR1 Workshop alternately at both institutions every other year. In 2013, it was held on October 28-29 in Rennes and NIMS members such as Dr. Naoki Ohashi, Division Director of Energy and Environment Division, and Dr. Shunichi Hishita, Division Director of Planning Division, participated. This is the first ICGP in France and this agreement is believed to be not only reinforcing the existing collaborations but also leading to the expansion of the cooperation to exchange students and researchers between the both institutions.
