The International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics, National Institute for Materials Science announced that it will host a symposium for high school students as a joint project of Japan’s 6 WPI research centers.

Abstract

  1. The International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (WPI-MANA; Director-General: Masakazu Aono), National Institute for Materials Science (President: Sukekatsu Ushioda) announced that it will host a symposium for high school students as a joint project of Japan’s 6 WPI research centers.  The details of this year’s symposium, which is entitled “ WPI High School Outreach Program”
    : Inspiring Insights into Pioneering Scientific Research”” are as follows.

"WPI High School Outreach Program: was first held in 2011 for the purpose of instilling an interest in science in middle/high school students and the general public by providing opportunities contact with the world’s top level of science being conducted at the research centers in the WPI Program. The 1 st Outreach Program was held in Fukuoka City, Kyushu, which is the home of the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research, Kyushu University (I2CNER).
  3. In addition to introducing research in a seminar format, the symposium will also feature a science quiz, demonstrations at booths, etc., allowing participants in the event to “enjoy science,” as the title suggests.
