Dr. Mamoru Watanabe, former Director-General of the Advanced Materials Laboratory (AML), was newly appointed as a Vice President of NIMS.

Dr. Mutsukazu Kamo, former Vice President, resigned on Dec. 31, 2004.
Dr. Eiji Muromachi replaced Dr. Watanabe to become Director-General of AML. He continues concurrently serving as Director-General of the Superconducting Materials Center.
